Skilled workers (Entry Express)
Skilled immigrants are selected as permanent residents based on their ability to settle in Canada and take part in our economy. There is a new system to manage how people with skilled work experience apply to immigrate to Canada. It is called Express Entry.
Permanent workers – Quebec
Quebec has a special agreement with the Government of Canada on immigration. The province has its own rules for choosing immigrants who will adapt well to living there.
To apply as a skilled worker in Quebec, you must:
- apply to the Quebec government for a Certificat de sélection du Québec (CSQ), then
- apply to Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) to become a permanent resident of Canada.
Program of the Quebec experience
(PEQ – Québec experience program) is an accelerated program for selecting skilled workers, which allows individuals to obtain a “Certificat de sélection du Québec “with a view to gaining permanent residence. This program is intended for Québec graduates or future graduates and temporary foreign workers who hold a skilled job and who meet certain conditions, such as demonstrating advanced intermediate knowledge of spoken French..
